4 Most important formulas to remember in SAT Math

Collegify · · 2 min read

In this blog, we are going to tell you the 4 most important formulas or the category of formulas to remember in SAT Math. Remember these 4 as arrows of success and use them to hit the target whenever required.

1. Quadratic Equation Formulas

For Quadratic Equations, you should remember all the formulas related to the vertex of the quadratic functions as well as the roots of the quadratic function.

For example:

The standard form of quadratic equation is f(x) = ax2 + bx + c

To find the x-coordinate of the vertex:

The x-coordinate of the vertex is given by x = -b/2a

By putting the x-coordinate of the vertex in the f(x) we can find the y-coordinate of the vertex.

Also, when f(x) = 0; then the sum and the product of the roots are given by -ba & ca respectively.

2. Function concept

There are a lot of question types you have solved in this topic but the most important and easiest concept of function to remember is –

What is the meaning of f (2) = 4 (I have taken 2 & 4 just for example) i.e. at x = 2 the value of y is 4. Believe me guys, it is the only concept that is mostly used in the functions.

3. Circle & Sector Formulas

This is another most important category of formulas. You should learn the following formulas:

The Area of a circle is r2 and Circumference of a circle is 2πr [where `r` is taken as the radius]

4. All the 2d & 3d geometry formulas given at the beginning of the section

I hope you will go through with these formulas before your exam or use them for your last-minute revision.

Good luck!
